The happening “all mine” explores the idea of collective ownership in interaction with democratic processes of choice.
Upon entering the theater space, each of the thirty participants is individually asked to hand over to the hosts all the cash he or she happens to carry this evening. In exchange the guest receives a receipt. The money is collected, displayed and counted together. The sum of the total money is announced ceremoniously.
In the course of the evening, guided rounds are held to reflect on attitudes to money, property and ownership. Above all the question is: On what the money could be spend, collected in the pot. Proposals are worked out together and hotly discussed. Finally, the most popular proposals are voted on in an election process until a single proposal remains. In the course of the happening, the participants have the opportunity to drop out at any time they wish, and thus get their money back. However, in withdrawing their personal money from the pot, they also lose their right to participate and vote. In addition, this reduces the collective amount of money. If they leave their money in the pot until the end, they invest in the project that was conceived and chosen that evening.
